Min Young Lee has earned a reputation for creating romantic clothing with a high-end sensibility and handcrafted attention to detail. She is the owner and designer of her namesake brand, Min Young Lee, which launched in 2008.
Prior to the launch of Min Young Lee, Min held the position of Director of Design for fashion house, Calypso. During her tenure at Calypso, Min oversaw the house line, Christian Celle, bringing it to the luxurious and refined brand that it is today.
A native of Korea, Min moved to the United States at the age of 14 and later moved to New York City study fashion design at the Parsons School of Design. She left Parsons early for the opportunity to start her own women's line, M Collection.
M Collection was a high-end, contemporary collection designed for women with an appreciation for luxury. Within 3 years, M Collection grew to a $2 million dollar company taking up residency in luminary retailers including Barney’s, Scoop, Intermix, and Fred Segal. In 2000, Min expanded and founded Min Lee, her second venture into women’s wear and opened a boutique in the Nolita district of Manhattan, New York. Her Nolita storefront allowed Min to explore different price points, styles and bespoke work for private clients.
In 2003, Min closed her Nolita storefront to continue her education in design and chose to hone her skills at Calypso. She held the position of Director of Design for Calypso from 2004-2007.
Min Young Lee is inspired by all of the incredible women that Min has met throughout her life. Her aspirational collection is a summation of hard work, luxurious vacations, and family.
